Runner again

I graduated back in October 2016, surprising myself that I could do it. What followed in next few months was continued running, reaching full 5K and getting very close to 30 mins for the run. I only realise now, I was pushing too hard, trying to break my PB in every single run. That resulted in injured foot, self-diagnosed as PF. In December same year I decided to give it a month to heal and try again. I had good few runs in late January and February, but it took the toll. Finally I gave up and decided to give it long term rest.

Next try was the following August, after almost six months of rest. Started from scratch, but only managed to get to end of week 2, pain was back with the vengeance.

So here we go again, this time I have learned my lessons and started very cautiously, minding that I do not push myself too hard. And here I am at week 3! Word of advice to new runners: respect your limits and don't overdo it!

Wise words... we have a few speedsters ending up on the IC currently :)

Very well done you for starting this again and welcome back :)

Thanks Oldfloss, I remember your advice when I originally started - to go slow and then even slower. I guess now I know what it meant. :-)

Wise words. I started running inside after week5 as it was killing my knees. So much better now. I'm now week 9 and am running outside once a week to toughen up. good luck

Running indoors myself and I can handle it much better pain-wise. But once-a-week outside might be just what I need to keep going. Thanks!
