I did the 20 min run at the end of week 5 yesterday and today the top of my feet are quite sore. This morning it was a struggle to walk properly. This eased throughout the day but back with evengencce now. Has anyone else experienced this?

What are your shoes like?

Are you wearing proper running shoes fitted after a gait analysis done at a specialist running shop or just leisure trainers? They are not the same thing.

I’m just wearing ASICS trainers that I’ve had for a few years that I normally wear to the gym. Not had anything fitted or had gait analysis

I would suspect your shoes, although they might just too tightly laced.

By week 5 you probably need to be in proper running shoes. Different makes suit different shape feet so get a fitting at a decent running shop. Don't rely on what suits someone else. Gait analysis should be free. Let year's model can be discounted quite a lot.

Maybe check your lacing - were they too tight? Google running shoe lacing patterns. But as has been said you may need new running shoes

I did get the same feeling a few years ago. My doc suggested folding the foot backwards which seemed to help. Confused? Kneel on your bed so that the top of your foot is in contact with the mattress. Place your hand between the mattress and the top of your foot and gently pull up towards the ceiling to stretch it out. Hope this helps. Good luck and keep us posted.
