At the moment I’ve no desire to go further than 5K, so I guess for me it’s a case of keeping to that commitment of at least 2 x runs/week.... (more if time allows)
I’m loving the added little benefits though... I can run 100m if I see my bus coming now, and the other day I climbed four flights of stairs and although thighs were aching, lungs said no problem 🤣👍
Thanks for posting this as it gives me hope! I graduated a few weeks ago and hadn’t bothered about distance as I knew I was very slow. So yesterday I decided to check my distance and was a bit disappointed to find I’d only run 3.5 k in 33 mins ☹️
I will keep at it though however long it takes. Not too long I hope because I signed up to do the local 5k Race for Life in July! It’s the inclines that do me in.....that and my age!
I’ll bet! Where I live there are no hills so I know I’m lucky. And we know that speed isn’t important don’t we. IF (and only if) you’re bothered about reaching 5k, then try adding on 1 minute every other run until you get there. Otherwise, keep doing what you’re doing... it’s amazing! We’re amazing! Who’d have thought 5(ish) months ago that we’d be capable of running 33 minutes?? You go Nannalyn53! 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
