Many swear by gait analysis, others will say that it is not evidence based. You obviously need well fitting quality shoes that are fit for purpose. If you go to a specialist running shop they will help you chose shoes and they are likely to know their stuff. It is really worth investing in your shoes but you can save some ££ by buying last season's styles. Buying shoes also means that you are committed to running- no backing out :)
