So I’ve signed up to take part in a running event in London in a few months and I need to run 5K, just download the app, and will start training this week.

Look in the Pinned Posts on the right of the page and read FAQ... how to run c25k.
Take it slow and steady, follow the programme, take your rest days (but do do other exercise - just not running) and you will get there. It is a brilliant programme.
