Just slow down until you are breathing as you do each and every day...Try not to overthink it or, to do it differently...just breathe :)

This is a slow and steady tried and tested programme.👍

That allows you to get the extra oxygen you need to run.👍

Do not think about it just do it in your natural way. Mouth, nose or both.👍

concentrate your efforts on your movement.🌟👏👏

Please read the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... for advice about breathing and many other topics.

Basically, if you can't breathe, slow down. You need to be going slow enough to hold a clear unfaltering conversation. If you can't you are too fast.

I'm not sure speed is the issue.

If you are currently in weeks 1-6 then the chances are you are still running in the oxygen deficit zone.

When you start to run, your body has to catch up to the new demands being placed on it. What it needs to do is increase the amount of oxygenated blood flowing around your muscles. To do this your breathing and heart rates will increase. After about ten minutes or so when the body has caught up your breathing and heart rate will settle down naturally and you will start to breath normally again

I have found the tip from the app in week 2 where you breath in to the count of 4 and breath out to the count of 4 has been amazing for me. I am still counting as i run (as early in prog) but it works a treat and i never get out of breath with it.

I breathe out for slightly longer than I breathe in and that seems to get my breath back under control.
