Just stumbled upon this article, I think it’s pretty well known but I’m curious about how others feel?

runnersworld.co.uk/health/w...?

My mood is definitely affected after a few days of no exercise.

Oh yes this is certainly true for me. I begin to feel as if my blood turns to sludge and the dreaded fat berg creeps towards me! I’m particularly affected by not being able to be outside so light levels and weather can bring me down in an instant.

I am pleased for you,🌟just keep running and smiling and enjoying.🌟👏👏

I used to run two three times a week and ran 3 miles with no stops..i went to the gym..horse rode i walked my dogs i was a keen gardner..generally active girl. My life changed dramatically through a divorce and a sudden career move..which was out of my control.this meant .early starts and getting home at late evenings.. my health declined, my weight increased..i became depressed, anxiety crept in...blood pressure rose. My mental health was at its lowest.

I remember going to the doctor with back pain .. and being told my weight by my doctor an all time high i had always been a skinny size 8 and now i was a size 16 she gave me information on a low carb diet ...she also advised that i was border line diabetic.

All i kept thinking to myself was how had i allowed this to happen to me!!

However..i am now heading back on track..i lost 2 stone .. now working out and gradually building up my running..

I am already feeling the benefits

My blood pressure has dropped..my waist size is just right and my low self esteem has lifted...

Well done you! It's tough that you had to go through so much to find out how strong you are, but everything sounds like it is on the up for you now. I'm sure you will reach all your goals

I can say for sure it has helped my mood. I used to be fit and ran 2 to 3 miles 2 or 3 x a week then I had cancer. Tried to continue to run through treatments but just couldn't. Now in remission and trying hard to get back my fitness back. Jogging is the thing that is really helping me to take back control again and helps to keep the 'demons and negative thoughts' at bay!. It doesn't matter if I am on a running machine or outside as both have their own merits but it makes me feel 'alive' :) :)

I'm sure if more people tried it there would be less anxiety related issues but the first step out the door is also the hardest one!
