Tip for new starters get the tape measure out.

There are lots of tips on here for people starting out on the awesome journey that is C25k but I would like to add another. Measure your inches before you start. I'm on week 9 now and although I haven't lost an awful lot of weight (my diet is too blame), I am sure that I've changed shape and there is less of me than there was before. I didn't think to measure around my bum, thighs etc before I started, but now I kind of wish I had.

Good idea! I didn't set off to lose weight, just to try this running lark to see how I would get on!

But I went down from about 61-62kg to about 54kg over the first year or so and have had to buy new trousers in smaller sizes. Bad news in one way, because I hate clothes shopping but at least I volunteer in a charity shop so that has saved me the effort of trailing around shops.

Also my BP, cholesterol and sugar levels have all come down with no real effort on my part other than this fun new hobby.

I lost over 4st, which was mainly due to a low carb diet, am no longer having to take insulin and my blood pressure lowered to a vey healthy level, but the running really changed my shape. I’ve lost nearly 9” off of my waist. It’s been expensive having to get a new wardrobe but so worth it.

Good luck

Brilliant - low carb does work for weight loss, and running does help as regards toning. Well done YOU!!!

Good idea. I’m comfortably back into my favourite jeans even though I’ve not lost any weight.

Agreed - I posted exactly the same thing a few weeks ago.

I have two job interviews this week and I can get in my interview suit that I last wore about 12 years ago, I am sure thanks to C25k!
