Hi so I'm starting on Monday I'm going to be using the treadmill as I have 2 small children and with this whole situation I was wondering does it work using a treadmill and if anyone has done so? Also what are people doing on their days in between and has anyone lost weight and toned alot doing this? Tia x

Congratulations on starting C25K with run 1 of week 1 on Monday on the treadmill, many people have ran the whole program on a treadmill, some people here on C25K call it a dreadmill, lol, good luck. 👍 🏃🏾
Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Enjoy your journey.
Hi and welcome.
It works fine with a treadmill, I have done that before although this time around I am doing it outside.
On the days in between I am doing a bit of bodyweight training - squats, lunges, dips, push-ups for a total of 20-30 mins. There are plenty of youtube clips with routines.
I also do stretches and exercises every day to improve flexibility, strengthen my core and protect my weak lower back.
Good luck with your journey, especially with young children on top of everything else!
Hi thanks for getting back to me 🙂, that's great to hear I will be going outside once this lock down is over but thought if I don't start on Monday I never will.. I have been thinking about adding pilates into my weekly fitness routine at a beginner level as I'm not the fittest around but I feel weights might be a good idea also thanks very much 😊
Hi Esrlamc. Welcome to the forum and good luck with your C25k.
Do make sure you read the guide - it is full of invalubale tips and a really useful reference as you progress through the weeks. Ensure you keep well hydrated (2-3 litres/day, even on rest days) and that you stretch after every run as both will help your muscles. You can find good post-run stretches online - these are good ones from the NHS: nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h...
I do Pilates and yoga on my rest days, as well as walking the dog. Pilates has really helped to strengthen my core and the yoga is great for stretching out.
Happy running 😊🏃♀️
Welcome. It's a bit tough to suggest things for rest days at the moment. My go-to exercise has always been swimming. 😔
Yoga with Adrienne on YouTube is great. Any core strength exercises are great. Walking or skipping work. Anything that isn't sitting on the sofa. I've been gardening and digging a pond. 😉
If you're interested in weight, I'd throw away your scales and use a tape measure. 👍
I use a tread mill in the gym and I can do 20 mins at 6 Mph, started the app running on flat grass over the park and WOW!, it is very different (harder )
It’s not the same as I’ve spoken to others who agree , if I was you I would take the little time out and do it outside
