Love the thinking ahead. It's a good idea so that the motivation doesn't vanish. I know what a load of the regulars on here will reply, so I'll let them fill you in properly about C25k+ podcasts, Pinned Posts, Park Run and Bridge to 10K, @ju-ju- 's 10 is the Magic Number and just say what I did!
In terms of a new goal: Most folk haven't done a full 5K of running by W9R3, so then we tend to split into two camps... Those who keep increasing the time until they can do 5K, or those who keep running for 30 minutes until the distance has increased to 5K. You'd know best what would work for you. I was in the latter camp. I wasn't a million miles away from 5K, so it seemed like an achievable goal but still one that would take some time.
Well I was wrong on one front, did it far quicker than I expected! However I found the consolidation runs really useful. It meant I got to the point where it felt comfortable. Which turn meant enjoyable. Certainly turned it into an actual habit. So I'm glad I didn't plough straight into Bridge to 10K, meant I actually got to review where I was at and what I really wanted to do. I realised I wanted more of a goal going forward, so yeah, now I'm working towards that 10K. If you'd asked me Week 8/Week 9 if I would aim to be running 10K, I would have laughed in your face. 5K seemed more than plenty then.
If it's motivation and goals you're after, there are quite a few folks who work towards actual bling from virtual races. Basically you pay upfront for a challenge and then email proof from a tracker app of some sort and the nice people send you a medal. Challenges really vary from running a set distance in one go, or covering a certain distance in a certain month. If you check out virtualrunneruk.com or powvirtualrunning.co.uk they can explain it far better than I!
