W5R3 done...phew!!

I must confess, I have been dreading this one, Twenty minutes none stop!! ....Okay, I have not broken any records, my run was very slow, but It was running and it was for twenty minutes. Which for me, and knowing where I was back in December, represents a significant fitness improvement. This program is working and I am now more determined than ever to get to the end and beyond. Happy running everyone :)

Sounds as if you are on target.

Next run is tricky, show respect.

What is it that makes W6R1 so tricky? So many struggle but I don’t understand.

After the high of your 20 min run, having walk breaks makes it feel like it will be easy...but the session is still 24 mins so longer than your previous session.

I liked week 6, I liked the build up to the longer runs...but thats me😊x

I was wondering what people ment, it's talked about alot on here, people find week 6 tricky. I'm going give it a go on Monday, take it slow and see what happens.

W6R1 is no more difficult than any other run, but after the glories of W5R3 a lot of underestimating goes on in the approach as it appears to be a retrograde step, bringing back walking intervals.

If you are doing C25k as designed, with a brisk walk and gentle jogging intervals, there is only minimal difference in the expenditure of effort for each section. Therefore, the overall duration of the workout is significant and W6R1 is increasing that overall duration. It is the longest workout in the plan, up to that point.

On an encouraging note, I really enjoyed W6 simply because I knew that I could do it! I still went really slow and steady. 😄

Hi Suew1, good for you and keep going. A few weeks ago I felt exactly the same as you do now, it seems so distant, but it truly isn't. You can get there too I'll keep an eye out for your update posts and thanks for the encouragement :)

Well done you.👍

Great advise and support as usual.🌟

From Mentor Iannoda de Truffe, 🤔, hope I got that spot on.🤔👍

Wait for it Clugg, unfortunately no cigar for you, Mentor’s name is Tim.🤔😂😂😂

Hope I got the cigar🤔, I saw this in a past reply and laughed😂😂when Tim clarified the situation to Jan- now - runs, now Bluebirdrunner🤔 , keep up Clugg🤔, Tim said his name was actually even longer and that’s why he dropped the de🤔😂😂 or is it di🤔, no I do not think he is Welsh.🤔🙈.Maybe Dutch🤔👏👏.If so love the orange.👍👏👏.🤔.

I am convinced that it is just another training technique to keep us Newbies on our toes. 🤔🙈😂😂

Oh no, no running on your toes, front foot, sorry.🤔👍😂😂

Keep enjoying.🌟 and having a laugh.👍👏👏😂😂

That’s wonderful, very well done - and slow is good. Slow running gives you all the running benefits - except of course you won’t win the Olympics! 😃
