Recuperation from illness continuing as I enter Week 4 (for the third time after two previous graduations). Hearing tales of other sepsis victims I have been very lucky and am so grateful to the Manx National Health Service who pulled me through.
Week 4 started off quite well - a run beside the sea, and it seemed a calm day, despite the waves lashing over the railings. Memo for future - do not run at the peak of High Tide.
The first runs, one of three minutes and one of a dreaded five minutes went really well. Nothing to this I was thinking as I turned back along Douglas Promenade.
And there it was, The Head Wind, totally invisible on the outward run and probably silently mocking me.
So the next two runs were really hard - what a difference that wind makes, and I only just managed to keep going for the five minute run which at times was as slow as my walking pace.
A fraction over 3 miles in Laura's 32.30 minutes - quicker than my treadmill runs though so it shows that you do push yourself more in the great outdoors.
All this just an excuse to post a picture of what else the wind was up to...
