We’ve all got to start somewhere 😀
Hi, I’m not new to running - I was running 5 - 10km before my injury but I have done virtually no fitness since then so needed something to get me back into it gently. Ha ha you should have seen me when I finished tonight - you’d have thought I’d just done a marathon. 🤣
😀 that’s a long time recovering. It must have been so frustrating for you.
I guess the good thing is that your body/muscles will recognise what is being asked of them sooner than those of a complete novice. So, we all have to start somewhere 😂😂
Take it steady; you don’t want to injure yourself again!
Take the link advice from IannodaTruffe ... it will set you off on the right foot
Slow and steady does it
For what it’s worth, I have found C25K the most helpful thing for my back (and a dodgy knee). The ‘intensity’ seems to get the blood flowing around damaged tissues. Just make sure you stretch properly afterwards. Good luck.
It’s an absolutely fabulous app ! It is the Rolls Royce of apps
So fab in fact as you need go only very slowly so you shouldn’t upset your back
The app or podcast really does open up the world of running though if you want it to.
Good luck
It's a fantastic programme, so easy to get going but then before you know it, you're actually, honest to goodness running and smiling doing it!!! 👍😂😁
Thanks Jo, I’m looking forward to my second run tomorrow. I’ve not been this unfit for a long time and it was a bit of a shock how hard yesterdays run was for me. I was wary of it at first with being off the road for so long and the possibility that it would aggravate my back. I feel fine today thank goodness. Just read your post - you’ve done so well, you should be really proud! Have a fab day. Clive.
It is a great way to start running and get back to fitness. I broke my back and still suffer from nerve pain (think constant sciatica). It worked for me. Just stick to the plan, if you need an extra week to repeat a section the. Just repeat it. You will get there. Just keep on keeping on. 👍
