Wooohooo! Very well done Sadie! Were you surrounded by daleks, cybermen and ice lords? πŸ˜ƒ

No, just the usual dog walkers, squirrels and ducks. πŸ˜€

And thanks, dear Elfe. xx

Not geeky! ☺

My Running is proceeding nicely. Almost back at 5k mark. Getting busy at work and weather is also lousy so fitting in three runs a week is getting a bit problem stick, but no rush :)

And may the Running Force be with you πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

Fantastic news. You have had an amazing comeback, John. I do love a good comeback story. πŸ˜€ Frustrating when weather and work gets in the way of our true passion! But slow and steady, no hurry...x

I feel like I am the Comeback Old Guy! :) And not only with the Running :)

I managed earlier this week to finally locate an old pal from my Asia days. It would be exactly 33 years at the end of this month since we were in the same place. Lost their contact details and nary a trace ever since until another person we both knew gave me a scrap of info. Anyway - I sent of a letter to what I hoped was a contactable address - and got a letter back.

billy was so astonished that he addressed the letter to 'Mr Lazarus (and my last name) " LOL!

It's really being fun renewing the friendship and catching up. Thanks to FB photos were exchanged rapidly. My Lord - Could have been in the same room and not in a million ears would I have recognised him or his wife :)

Some people do change fphysically to an astonishing extent and some of us survive despite the odds, that's what I'm discovering in the last couple of years since I have had time to try and track down old comrades and friends. :) This one has a happy ending however - he and his lovely wife are well, happy, and even could be said to have prospered financially. Not many make it in anything like that good a shape :)

So - having survived myself (The first thing Billy said " I wondered over they years sometimes how long you lasted" and with the wonderful bonus of this whole Running lark I started thinking..

Running is bringing so much enjoyment physically, mentally and the companionship that has expanded my worldview to a marked degree for the better, to what I thought would be an unbearably boring and pointless (and even worse that it was forced) retirement that all in all I am very happy with the 'boring life' I dreaded and thought was going to mark my latter years. On top of that, I found out just a week ago that because of a rather bizarre quirk in law - at least in a theory of law - I am probably a citizen on another Nation besides Ireland (and when I take out citizenship here - that could mean l am not a dual but a TRI-National!!! LOL)

So - 'new' me physically, mentally, physiologically and now 'Nationally' :)

As a result - I am thinking of changing my Forum name to 'Running Lazarus" ROFL :)

(snowing again today, getting cabin fever already so please forgive ramblings :) )

Nice one! It's cool isn't it?! I am stupidly chuffed with mine... very posh! Not keen on the Virtual runner on the back but hey ho, can't have it all. And I am tempted by the Stars Wars one too!! I think this could be the start of something...... very well done and much deserved, you are the Comeback Queen! X

Sadie-runs profile image
Sadie-runsGraduate in reply to Fishypieface

Super cool! And so so shiny. Wore it around the house yesterday, much to BF’s amusement. Well done you on your virtual race, too. The Star Wars on in May has an amazing medal - Death Star with ole Vader inside - yikers!

Ooooh Comeback Queen! I like that. πŸ˜€
