That sounds about right. Most people run 3-3.5K at graduation.

I think it might be more accurate to say "most people run 2.5 to 5.5k at graduation" The range is huge, as is the age and degree of fitness that people bring to the programme.

This is very dependent on how the word most. Considering a 3D plot of mean distance vs Age vs Frequency you will always get a gaussian in the mean Distance vs Frequency cross section. I would strongly doubt a sigma or FWHM would give a band as wide as you are stating at any age, unless you want 5 sigma the word most. The peak itself would likely move as a function of age but distributed similarly at all ages, therefore removing age dependence would increase the band at sigma but I would still doubt one would get a 3km difference. Granted my half was just a guess and is probably too small.

Just going on my experience having followed this forum for five years.

By most I mean a very large proportion. Since no records are kept of the distances covered by graduates it is impossible to create anything more accurate than a sweeping statement, but I do know of graduates who have graduated running 2.5k and others who have graduated running 5.5k.

I rest my case.

I’m not really sure what I was covering then as I didn’t track it. But that sounds like you are doing just fine...😎

It really doesn't matter 😀 You'll suss out that you're improving as the weeks go on and you cover more ground still in the half hour period 👍🏼

Does not matter .🤔👏👏

As long as you are running with both feet leaving the ground and gently kissing the ground.

Comparing yourself to yourself is fine, but seeing as it is normally a trait of those who are maybe lacking a bit of self confidence, it is asking for trouble to compare yourself with others.

There will be some faster and some slower than you.

You are doing great.

Yes a good point about self confidence and comparison. I'm feeling pretty happy I can run that far x

Thank you everyone for your support. I'm actually feeling really chuffed with the distance. I cannot believe it is over a mile!! That has completely surprised me. I can run 1.5 miles!!! its quite incredible. I haven't tracked myself time or distance at all so may not bother until I graduate. I guess Im just looking ahead and thinking of weekly milestones to keep me motivated. XX
