End of week 1, got breathing organised! How do you stop your ankles aching half way through? Shoes? Tarmac? Unfitness?

I am very impressed! - I certainly didn't have my breathing organised at the end of week one! 😀 It is normal to have niggling aches and pains at the beginning - if it is real pain then get it checked out . If you decide that you want to continue running, it is a good idea to get gait analysis and the right running shoes for you - that helped get rid of my early aches. Also running on softer ground, (grass, cinder tracks etc) rather than tarmac can be kinder to your joints, although once I had my proper running shoes I didn't have problems with tarmac. 😄

Have you checked this post out... lots of questions answered.

breathing... you just breathe..like you do all the time..if you are struggling, then slow down. Ankles.. it could be shoes... so check that out in the linked post, and you could be landing very heavily. We do tend to thump a little in the early days.

Try to land lightly...kissing the ground with your feet I call it... sounds daft..but it works:)

Well done on your first week :)
