Advice for headphones

I like using bluetooth headphones so I don't get tangled up in wires but my last two sets have died a fast death - despite being 'sports headphones' they clearly don't like getting sweaty or dealing with too much movement. Does anyone have any advice on a good pair of bluetooth headphones that won't break the bank and will actually last?

Jabra Coach are on a deal on Amazon at the moment. They sound good and are well made. I've worn them through a down pour and they worked fine. Still quite a lot at £52 but work very well provided you charge them after a run. Once you have completed C25K there is a coaching program that comes with it which seems quite good.

I'm wondering if the ones with a firm plastic part that goes around your neck are more hardy than the ones with just a wire.

These Jabra Coach headphones have a short loose cable that hangs behind your neck. There is a clip that comes with it but is unnecessary. The part that goes in your ear has some special silicone shapes to hold the earphone in. It works very well. I forget about it when I'm running. If you need to stop the music or Laura just press the central button on the controller once, up and down for volume.

That's good to know that some of the cheaper ones can hold up! I'm wary about paying too much since I've had such bad luck with them so far.

I bought some Damson 'headbones' which are Bluetooth bone conduction headphones which were recommended to try as they were only £25 (on offer through Amazon) - I like them as you can hear what's going on around you when running and can also make/receive phone calls. I wouldn't say they are the best but they suit my needs and happy to stick with them. 👍🏼

I've never heard of headbones, very odd!

That's one thing that makes me uncomfortable with headphones - not knowing if a bike is coming up behind you and not being alert to anything iffy that might be going on. They seem pretty expensive atm but I might keep an eye out for any offers.

They are very good - I can hear all the mountain bikes whizzing around in the woods and also traffic when I am road running so very handy. Yes, keep a look out for them as I think they do put them on offer every now and again. 👍🏼

I've been using MPOW magneto bluetooth headphones. Amazon, about £18 I think. Absolutely bomb-proof, never had any problems with them at all (OK, a couple of times they've run out of battery mid-run but that is user-error, not a problem with the headphones themselves). Never fallen out of my ears, never lose connection, and I can make & receive phone calls as well if necessary. Best £18 investment ever!

Magneto??? When you take them out and dangle them around your neck, they use magnets to hold the 2 ends together, and this makes the music playback automatically stop. Restarts when you pull them apart. Genius!

I started using wireless but found they kept slipping out. It sounds funny but I've found I can run without music so now I just run with my mobile in my jacket listening to Michael's disembodied voice coming out of my breast pocket....lol

I bought a cheap mpow pair too (amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01MPX..., they are great and dirt cheap! I have now found I prefer running without them and without music but they would still be my recommendation
