So much harder than the 20 mins of wk5.3.... why!?! I had to stop at 7 mins on the 8 min section - so now I need to decide whether to redo the whole run on Saturday or move on.. what would you all do?

If you are happy to move on.. then move on... and slow down... then slow down more.. relax into the longer runs..let the newly found running legs carry you along... :)

Each run follows the one before, but take it gently and slowly:)

I found this run a challenge ,when I was told I had run for 5mins I thought no way ? I have run for longer? I was so disheartened ,

I had to focus my mind, which I did

I have found that this programme challenges mind and body , this run certainly challenged my mind ,

You can do this run move on and get your mind in the right place , your body is ready 👍🏻

I had exactly the same experience! I was warned of it before hand by others on here but I really thought I’d be fine since I’d done the 20 minutes.

I really struggled on w6r1 and felt so bad at the end as though I’d learned nothing! But the next one was better. Trust the plan.

Don’t give up. You’ve come a long long way already. 👍🏼

You WILL do it.

It is your longest workout to date...........might explain something...........but so many think that walking doesn't count.

Start each run nice and slow and only speed up when you are confident you can reach the end.

I'd try moving on. Next is the two 10 min runs I think? So try it and see, if you're feeling rough you can always stop at 8 mins.

Like most people, I found week 6, run 1 very hard and it is so dispiriting after the high of running 20 minutes non-stop! Run 2 was slightly less hard but I did struggle a bit so I was very apprehensive about run 3 but it flew by. My advice would be to continue to run 2 and take it slow and steady. I'm shortly going out to do run 1 of week 7 - can't believe I've got this far, having started running at the age of 66 and never having run before. If I can do it anyone can! Good luck

Thanks, I will give run 2 a go tomorrow. I am so cross at myself for giving up (even if only for 1 minute) yesterday, and now appreciate the cool down walk - I came straight in after the run yesterday and my legs hurt today! Good luck with week 7 and thanks for the advise x
