Today was a struggle!

Only just starting out - did week 2 run 2 today and didn't complete the last run - found it really hard. Had a couple of wines last night, maybe that was why? (I've been abstaining for a couple of months)

So - do I go back to run 3 week 1 or just try again in a couple of days?

Overweight and new to exercise!

Oh, and had missed 5 days due to the snow!

Just revisit that run again, and take more lemonade with the wine!!

Just go again after your rest day... did you exercise on the snow days...

I went out this morning.. first time since last Monday.. took it really slow..even for me :)

Take it gently and move on :)

Thanks - I'd missed 5 days since my last run due to the snow so perhaps that made the difference. I'll go again on Wednesday! :)

A little of what you fancy, of course.

Remember to drink plenty water ,more appropriate than lemonade 🤔, to compensate for the dehydration due to alcohol and possibly a drop in mood the following day.Sugarfixes can do this.🤔

Suggest couple of wines on a run day after a run, if you have to.Not evening before.🤔

Your abstaining practise is of course good and will have rewarded you.👍

You have done that, and it will help you with both your goals weight loss and stamina.👍

It is really just one goal, wellness, new you, etc.🌟

Enjoy your journey and I hope this helps.👏👏

That's great. Stone and a half in but still 3 to go. Looking forward to increased fitness and the benefits that come with it :)

Well done and you can do it.Life changing.

The rowing machine in a gym is one of the top calorie burners on your rest days.I think any day really , just like walking , etc ,another cardio activity. Look at the advise on here.👍👏👏

Your doing great.👏👏That is a good achievement.Takes time and do not stress, you will get there.👍🌟

By having the (rarely broken) rule that I don't drink the day before I run, I manage to keep my alcohol intake fairly well regulated.

Have you read the guide to c25k? healthunlocked.com/couchto5... it is full of basic advice.

I hadn't, thanks. I'll give it a look. Sunday lunch without wine next week. I think the snow break had a bit of an impact too - or perhaps just an off day. I'll be sticking with it :)

Just remember that a break is not all negative, it can turbo charge you also.

Read FAQ Posts and other posts and replies. All the gems are here. Important to keep reading and following even if you do not post or reply.Lurkers are good also, take what you need from here and try it on each run when your ready.

It is a good habit and you are training your running brain, it is part of your body also.🤔👏👏🌟

There's nothing wrong with repeating a week, lots of us had to. There's no time limit so do whatever feels right for you and well done for getting this far, you've made a good start so give yourself a pat on the back for that.

Thanks, I'm glad I found the forum today. I think it will help me stay motivated if I'm struggling :)

Water will always do more for you than alcohol. I very rarely drink at all these days but I alway notice the detrimental affect on my body and mood the next day, even after just one. (Kind of why I don't bother often; I want to feel better, not worse)

You're doing great, don't let one difficult day make you feel bad. Start your next run fresh and positive 👍😁

Maybe sociable but no other rewards.👏👏🌟

For the Seniors😂😂 with maybe end of life joints a single Malt whisky in small measure at lunch time 1-2 max is the best lubrication ever.🤔👏👏

Ben Bracken Islay Single Malt Whisky in a green box at Lidl a bargain.🤔😂😂 £17. 50😂😂

Anything else will do.

Just a piece of fun.😂😂😂

I used to enjoy a good single malt! Balvenie was my top choice. Best poured over good quality vanilla ice cream 😉

Unfortunately I have been put off alcohol, even in a social sense by watching my mother poison herself with it. I can't look at or even consider a drink without seeing her. Puts me right off 👎

I am sorry for the painful memories of that for you.But strangely there is a positive to.👍

I am with you, alchol is a poison , pure and simple. Some sugar fixes are not any better.🙈

I am not judgemental at my late stage, just now pragmatic, boring or not.🙈

I am going to tell you a true , hopefully amusing story,If I may,

Decades ago life was much tougher, larger families and three lads to a bed,

The eldest brother was sick over the younger , through alcohol. As a result of the experience the younger was a total abstainer all his life.👍

Just to lift the mood I said , I wished someone had vomited all over me.🤔😂😂😂

Good luck with your next 28 mins.👏👏🌟
