Sucks to Suck?? Stopping halfway through W6D2

Hi, my running partner and I stopped running after the first set of 10 minutes. It's the first time in the program where I didn't feel like going the entire time. I knew that we could both do it. However, I just wasn't feeling like it. For the last set of 10 minutes we ended up on the bikes and I later went to spinning today. has this happened to anyone??

I think I'm posing because I need someone to make me feel better about not completing my first day in the program. Ugh.

It happens. What's important though is your resolve to not let it happen every time. Maybe remind yourself why you are doing this and check that that still holds true. Maybe think of a mantra you can use on your run to help you through the tough moments. Quite often you don't have to go far past the tough spot to get back to the smooth.

My mantra is 'this is what you came for'.

Did you do the walking break and then not feel like starting up again? I think everyone on here has had a 'practice' run at some point, it's a badge of honour!

Hello there, If I get it, you're in week 6 and this one is a killer for most of us, especially the first two runs of the week. After getting you to run non-stop in W5R3, then, you are back to intervals and it seems harder to get back into running after the first walking interval. But now you know, go for it again ;-)! You'll be fine. Just make sure you are not starting too fast. Remember this programme mantra: slow and steady. Better start slow and finish as a sprint if you feel fine at the end of your second run.

If it's more of a motivation issue, then as Pinkaardvark says, remind yourself of why you started and are doing this. Also, if you feel great physically, then make it fun on the second run: try to get landmarks where you run and quicken the pace for 30 secs then, slow jog and then again, speed up. The second 10 mns will be gone in a swish!

I had to do several of the runs more than once before succeeding and moving on. It really doesn't matter - every run is useful, either in building your stamina or teaching you something about yourself. The only failure is when you can't be bothered to get off the sofa !!

W6/2 I found it challenging first 10mins seemed never ending , second 10 I felt very much like stopping .... I didn't ?

I think wk6/2 is also challenging your self belief .. I kept telling my self ... I am going to get through this ... & I did

Not looking forward to Wk6/3

Maybe it's the cold snowy weather that's putting

me off
