Running watches

Use the Map My Run app on your phone

Free phone apps are a good start. Strava, Mapmyrun etc... A gps watch will cost a chunk of cash but give better gps and performance metrics. I use the Garmin Forerunner 235 which is a basic model and is getting cheaper since it may be replaced by a new model soon. Start with a phone app first, you may not feel the need for a dedicated running watch...

Some on here like the Garmin forerunner 10 watch, my wife has one and likes it lots, and it's not mega bucks! there's also the FR15 & 25

For a running watch, look at the Garmin ForeRunner series. Any of them will give you a great experience, and you can pick a model in your price-range. The great benefit of a running watch (over and above what an app on a phone will do) is the convenience of seeing your time/speed/pace/distance/HR on your wrist in a very easy-to-check format.

I have just picked up a new Fitbit surge on eBay auction £70 around £160 in the shops . It has HR and built in GPS you can link it to Strava . It’s fairly easy to use but try apps first that may be enough for you . Good luck 👍
