So that’s Week 6 finished, and the first time I’ve actually managed 5k in a single session (5.2k in the 35 minutes total session).
I don’t feel too bad after the 25 minutes in one go and managed to get an overall pace of just over 6:35 apparently (whatever that means!)
I’ve been doing the program since about September and have had a few weeks where I’ve only managed one run (with a few weeks without any runs at all). I’ve not redone any runs in that time (I cycle commute and use Zwift as a training aid on the bike a couple of evenings a week so I’m relatively fit).
Throughout the programme I’ve found each session challenging but achievable and am now looking forward to weeks 7, 8 and 9.
Bring it on!

If you are a new runner, even with a reasonable level of fitness, then just take it gently. Running causes micro tears in muscles, unlike cycling, and it is those repairing and strengthening that slowly builds your muscles, reducing your injury risk inversely.
