Week 4 Run 1 done - can't believe I'm nearly halfway through!

I was dreading today, as 5 mins seemed like a huge chunk of running, without too much recovery in between, but it went well. The tech on the treadmill told me I broke a couple of my own records in the process, so I'm feeling rather extra chuffed and looking forward to next time now. I so nearly talked myself into delaying it until another day this morning. Definitely a great way to start the week!

Well done.

You will get faster but that is not your main aim. Running at a gentle conversational pace is the best way for a new runner to develop their body. Nothing works without a good oxygen supply, so make sure you are running slowly enough to fully fill your lungs with each breath.

:) Yes, I'm not so worried about speed, just making it to the end of the run in one piece! However, I'm noticing my face is becoming slightly less red with each run I do, so I think I'm heading in the right direction!
