Morning...decided to get up early and go for my run before my brain could wake up and work out what was happening and get all miserable like last time. First 3 minute run went well, seemed to finish quickly , struggled with the other runs as usual but feel happier with how the first 3 minutes went...made myself laugh when I realised I now consider “running” for 3 minutes as the easier option🤦🏻♂️
Sometimes it feels like my legs would rather just keep going than stop starting, it’s like the pain is still there but gets “toned Down” to a liveable level of ache..(it makes sense in my head honestly)...the problem is my lungs aren’t quite on the same page yet...i smoked in my 20’s it was the 90s and people still did then. ( I gave up years ago, but I figure the damage is done)
Thankyou all for commenting on my other post the other day, it’s Was kind of you all.
Anyhow, sun is shinning and the kettle has boiled...brew time 👍🏻

One rule for all runners looking for a sustainable pace is to slow to a conversational pace ( not just occasionally gasped words). This may seem very slow, but if it is allowing your lungs to fill, then you will be able to supply your muscles with the oxygenated blood they need and you will not tire so quickly or ache so much. Over time as your lungs, heart and muscles develop, this pace may naturally increase.
Well done for getting out there early! I can't face morning running at all, so admire those who do it!
If you're tiring quite early on and finding it hard going, do try slowing down a bit. Remember that 'run' means 'slow jog'. Speed and distance are irrelevant in this programme - it's all about getting you to run for 30 minutes (and very few people make it to 5k in that time after just 9 weeks, so don't let that be a factor!). Go gentle on yourself, and enjoy it!
