53 and finally getting fit

Hi I’ve just turned 53 and after having back problems and discovering I have arthritis in my hip joints, I decided I could continue on my inactive unhealthy journey or get of my ever increasing butt and do something, I’m now on week 7 of couch to 5 k and getting on great. It’s not been easy but I have never not completed a run I’ve pushed myself. I had shin splints and more aches and pains than ever in the first few weeks but now I’m starting to reap the rewards, I’ve started to lose a little weight and I feel fitter already, definitely planning ontaking this further when this plan is finished....so glad I made a start

Good for you! We get to a certain age and things began to crumble if we let them 😃

Lots of folks well into their 70’s here so you’re just a babe by comparison

I was nearly 57 when I started

you’ll be fine, just go slowly! 👍🏃‍♀️😃
