Internal compass fail

I’m bored with my usual work run so i headed off to Banstead Heath today for a change. Well it turned into quite an adventure. My 5k loop turned into a 5k straight line and then a very roundabout walk back to the car involving the compass on my phone. Yes really.

Added to which this patch of Surrey greenery is just an excuse for horses to create a quagmire at this time of year.

Anyway thought you might enjoy this pic of a tired but happy recent graduate!

Thanks. It’s great getting out in the day during January.

Where is Banstead Heath then? I often run round the edge of Oaks Park and sometimes cut through to what I think of as Banstead Common starting by the Marsden and having to turn back when I hit the A217. I don't really know all the different downs and places and wonder if I'm just calling it the wrong thing or is there somewhere else I can try out. Your picture looks nice. I know the edges of Oaks Park are a complete mud bath at the moment but haven't ventured further for a while.

Maybe it is Common not Heath! I started at the Sportsman pub in Mogador.

No. it's a Heath!! I checked the map. Have only been to Mogador in the dark - to the pub. I may drive up there one day - when it's less muddy..

It certainly wasn’t a rest! But I definitely enjoyed it. Reminded me of cross country at school way back when.
