Today was new route, a new mind-set and a new day. Over the Christmas and New Year I fell into the trap of hoovering up everything chocolate and biscuit within a 5 metre radius of my desk. We had so much in the office just sitting around calling to me that I answered and ate. Added to that the snow, ice, fog and wind were all excuses that I couldn't run. So last night I dug out my trainers from the bottom of the pile and laid out my running clothes. I was going to run. And run I did. It was feet to the beat this morning. Interval running is my new best running friend.
I must admit its not just my fitness that is benefitting from running. I'm happier (not much but a little) getting up in the morning. After a run I'm more prepared for the day ahead. Small setbacks don't stump me as I just say to myself (I talk to myself a lot) you can run 5K, you can do this.
I've just realised I can run 5k yay!!

The happy graduate syndrom I feel the same about the programme and the running even if I rarely run before going to work as I'm lucky to have a few afternoons off in the week. Definitely feel great before (still excited about the prospect of being able to run for 30 mns!), during (smiling at birds, dogs, whoever I ran past) and after released of any tension I could have had... Enjoy more running!
