Why do my runs seem to vary sooo much ? I had a good run today, ran over 35 mins and felt good. The previous run thought I would die at 30 mins. How do people manage the ups and downs ??

It's hard to say! So many factors are at play, you can be tired, ill, preoccupied, or maybe it's just "one of those days". Could be the season, the weather, something you've eaten...
If I've had a bad run previously and feel a bit discouraged about the next one, I often give myself a break in that I will decide to not go as far and/or fast as I planned, and just see how I feel. I often end up feeling fine and going for the original distance/speed, but if not - I still got a run in! I know that I will almost always feel really good when I've finished, even if the run itself hasn't gone so well, and that thought gets me out of the door time and again

I enjoy the ups...
...and do lots of self distracting on the downs. I make sure my play list is all music that I really like and think, " I'll keep going for this track" one track at a time. If I am more tired than usual I go with an open mind about how long I will keep going for. 😄
