Pep talk needed!

I’ve decided that this C25K challenge is like climbing a mountain. When you start your looking at the top of the mountain thinking you can’t do it, then you start and happy days your managing to do it, then as you get close to the summit you can’t breathe and it’s bloody freezing and you think you’ll never do it!

I completed W8R2 today and I found it hard going. It was -5 on the school run this morning so waited till it warmed up to a clement -1 before heading out. I’m giving myself credit for going out and finishing but when (if) I manage to finish this challenge I’m going back to the happy days at the bottom of the mountain again!! 😂

Well done for getting out there. Nearly at the finish line, and summit. I reckon you will change your mind when you get to that podium!

When you reach the sunlit uplands you will find a plateau, if you want to, where the climbing can cease, if you want, and you can consolidate by just staying at the same level for a few weeks, or longer if you want, basking in the warmth of your newly won ability...........it is all up to you.

In a few months you might want to grab your crampons and ice axe and push on up to the dizzying heights of 10k..........if you want to.

Keep going, the view from the top is wonderful.

Very well done you :) It is a tad chilly out there:)

PS

Remember... " The best view comes after the hardest climb" :)

The other day as I was heading out I found myself thinking - I'll just do an easy run today, somewhere around 4 to 4.5 km. And then it struck me that three months ago this 'easy' run would have been impossibly hard.

Just think of all the progress you've made. You absolutely can finish this. Week 9 isn't really any harder than week 8 and is more rewarding. And once you've had that brilliant 'podium' feeling you can relax and just enjoy your running. Good luck!

Running in such cold weather is supposed to be very hard because you can't breathe as well (cold air), so no wonder you found it hard. You did a great job going out and hanging on to finish the run! I'm sure you'll find W9 runs easy if you run in better conditions. As for going back to the bottom of the mountain, wait and see ;-) You'll be so happy to be able to run for 30 mns or more...
