Still having knee problems so havent run for nearly a week, last run being on sunday and week 9 run 1. Resided myself to walking my running route with the dogs as hubby runs ahead. Gutted but i have to be sensible and can't risk a more serious injury and it's even more risky now the snow is here.
So frustrating as i dont know what has caused this and have taken it so slow, had gait analysis at week 4 and followed the program.
If the strengthening exercises, knee support and PRICE routine doesn't help over Xmas its looking like l will have to track down a physio and get it checked out before i attempt the 2 runs to graduation!

Thanks. its been extremely hard to resist temptation especially when it starts to ease up but if I cause an injury bad enough to stop me a driving I'm pretty much stranded living where I do without a car so no choice but to be sensible.
Hello all. Still here, still lurking and still stuck at week 9 run 1. Over 2 weeks since my last run now and my knee is just starting to feel better. Went to the doctors and there is a 6 month waiting list!
Have an appointment with a private physio tomorrow so fingers crossed she can identify the cause of this niggle and get me back running again so I can graduate and continue to do something Ive found that helps me feel great!
Saw the physio today. Good news and bad news...good news is I can run but not for 30 minutes...only 15 minutes maximum so I won't be graduating any time soon but I'm so happy I have the go ahead to run!
I have some daily exercises to do to strengthen my glute muscles. She said there isn't a serious injury to my knee but i do have a slight misalignment that is quite common and should ease the stronger the muscles get and the best treatment is load bearing exercise.
Back there in 10 days so she can see what my knee is like after the strengthening exercises and short runs which she recommends I do every day. Little and often was her motto.
Went out for my first run in over 2 weeks at lunch time today. I walked for 10 minutes, ran for 20 minutes and walked for 10 minutes. Knee has been feeling fine and have been doing the physio exercises every day. No issues at all with my knee whilst running but now lay in bed in a bit of pain after doing the stairs up. It seems slightly puffy again too. Grrrrrr.
Out again on boxing day and Thursday before seeing physio again Friday. She is encouraging me to run so hopefully this pain will pass!
On another note, Hubby graduated today and has now completed all the runs.
Went out again this morning for rehab run number two with a 10 minute warm up and cool down and 20 minute run.
Knee seems to be holding up ok and I'm continuing to do daily physio exercises. I have the odd twinge, a feeling of heat and a pulse in my knee whilst resting just now but not pain. Very odd all of this!
I have another run planned for Thursday and back to physio Friday. Hoping she agrees I can extend to 25 minutes.
