Hi and welcome..this is a great place to be... Take it slow and steady..listen to your body..( It may well grumble a tad). Take your rest days and do not push too hard!
This a great place for support and advice... and we will give the odd shove if need be ( that will be me :))
Linked with a healthy eating regime this is the perfect combination! Keep posting too!
Hi, I'm 63 and hadn't done any exercise for 5 years (and to be honest, before then the exercise had been gentle and sporadic). I shook myself awake and decided this plan would suit me. I'm not sticking to the schedule - I often spend 3/4 weeks at each level as I thought it was better to be sensible rather than to push myself to the point of injury. I've listened to my body (knees, hips, Achilles and arches), had plenty of rest days and paced myself really carefully. My runs are slower than my brisk walks, but they get me out of breath and feeling like I'm working hard. I've reached week 4, and am just reading the runs for week 5 with a degree of nervousness. But each 'week' feels like such a massive achievement and I'm really proud of myself. I'm confident that this programme has been designed for everyone, even an old(ish) wimp like me. So just start at the beginning, and see where you end up!
thanks for that..at present i will only be doing walking at different speeds due to my knees and an arthritic ankle(legacies of football)...i'll let you know my progress

Hello ramjet50 ... I am nearly 66, and had the same thought as you a few weeks ago. I have just finished week 3, (having cautiously repeated weeks 1, 2 and 3 because I was very unfit to begin with). I am now really looking forward to Week 4 (first run tomorrow), and now I am doing this because I LOVE IT !! It makes me feel happier and more alive, and I shall carry on for ever. I don't usually post, but I do read - and take the advice - especially from Oldfloss & IannodaTruffe, and the key word is SLOW. Have a happy journey, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Good idea, & yes, please report progress. (Funny thing - I've suffered from 'skier's knees' for several years, and since starting running, the chronic light pain has disappeared. Coincidence ?)
Good! Run, eat healthily, drink moderately, walk more 😃👍
It’s never too late C25k is fantastic!
