Since I strained my sciatic nerve 24 years ago I’ve always avoided squatting down as I found it very difficult and painful. As a result my hamstrings have always been tight and this has impacted on me in various ways, although minor 😊-I have developed a really bad habit of bending over at the waist at home/work.
However after only 6 weeks of running and following the plan I attempted some gentle stretching exercises tonight. I have just noticed that I can now gently stretch my feet towards my derrière!! No pain, no discomfort just a nice ‘warm’ feeling from the gentle stretches. The difference is unbelievable and I’m so chuffed that I am now that bit more flexible-I’ve always described myself to be ‘stecky’. This improvement can only be attributed to running 🏃🏼♀️🎉
