Week 8 Struggling

Really struggling with week 8 can’t get the breathing right. Finding it hard to finish. Was ok with week 7 and it’s only 3 minutes more? Anyone else had this problem ?

At this stage, because you're getting fitter, sometimes you start off faster than you actually imagine you are. This was about the only time I really analysed my stats on Map My Run, because I found I kept on going off too fast... and then was utterly tatered

Don't know if that's a contributing factor, also it may be worth taking an extra day of rest now you're getting towards the end, you may be tiring just that little more..

hope next time is a little less tiring

Well that’s exactly what I did. I used map my run for the first time and did set off too fast !

Exactly the opposite of what I’ve been doing in the runs before slowly building speed

So have you got a 'set route' with milestones that you recognise hitting at certain times? if so next time you go, make a conscious effort to be slower at those points. Or if you are now adding extra bits to your route - add them to the beginning of your run not the end, then that way you haven't got any idea of where you should be! it sounds crazy but that worked for me, because I couldn't unconsciously 'beat' the milestones, because I'd changed their order....

Slow down...! Start slow and stay slow..these runs are about pure relaxation and enjoyment. let the legs take you...breathe, like you do every single second every day!

Enjoy.... the journey is great...why rush it:)

I found week 8 dreadful. Failed second run. Struggled with the whole week. But, just struggle through and you might be surprised to find week 9 is ok. Good luck and keep it slow and steady.
