W5R1 done...plus a bit of the old backward.

Beautiful crisp and cold day: absolutely brilliant for running in the lovely Shropshire countryside.

Enjoyed the three 5minute runs. No real problems and quick recoveries. I think listening to Dire Straits helped: 'Walk on Life' is just about perfect for me in terms of cadence (although 'Brothers in Arms' might be needed for the longer runs in later weeks).

Felt good at the end so did an extra 5 min session including a couple of sessions of running backwards: this was something I did a lot of in specific training for other sports, years ago. Felt the years rolling back and really enjoyed the different sensations and challenge.

Enjoying this.

Glad to hear you're finding your rhythm and enjoying the programme. It's amazing the right tunes can do. I believe our darling Oldfloss has previously noted some backwards running in some of her older posts and may have some words of wisdom (or at least some comaraderie). I'm a klutz and would end up ar*e over tea kettle 😰

Well done.

If you haven't run for years this healthunlocked.com/couchto5... why we don't advise stepping too far out of the programme.
