W1R1: first post-partum run and, to my delighted surprise, I didn't wee myself.

And none of my organs fell out into the mud. And schlepping about with the baby in the sling seems to have made me fitter than I realised because at the end of my 1 minute runs I was a) still breathing through my nose and b) hungry hungry hungry for more.

Maybe I wept a little bit with the unadulterated joy of being out after such a long hiatus and a pretty near-deathy kind of labour that left me mutilated and anaemic. Or maybe it was just rain on my face. And eyeballs. πŸ˜‰

It is flipping beautiful out there!

Perfect! I did wear a merino vest, fleece, AND lightweight down jacket though.

I bloody love running - was doing regular 10-milers in the hills after my first go round c25k and before motherhood, but it's been over a year so I'm trying to ease myself back in responsibly!

No worries. I'm being tentative but I've got a spring half in mind...we shall see!

Well done...i never did anything like this after any of my 4 births...always felt like my womb was about to fall out at the best of times without running!!!thats brilliant x

Haha, the fear of falling-out is real! Does that get better? I did make to GP do a proper exam before heading out, but still terrifying πŸ˜¬πŸ˜‚.

And delivering 4 babies is hardcore enough without running after each one!

I dunno; Nicky Spinks is 50 and is an absolute running goddess - you've still plenty of time!

There's so much walking in week 1 I needed it - however brisk my walking was, the temperature was brisker!

Forceps assisted delivery of 10lb9oz back-to-back baby means every time I don't wee myself is an achievement πŸ†πŸ˜‰
