It's the little things people say!

Hi everyone,

Last night I was getting ready to go out for my midweek run, when my twin brother (aged 51, so you should be able to work out my age from that as he's my twin!) popped round. He asked how far I was planning to run, and I heard myself say, 'oh, ONLY 3 miles tonight' (I stress the word 'ONLY'!, wouldn't have said that 18 months ago when I couldn't have run 300 yards let allowed 3 miles), His reply, '3 miles! I couldn't run 1 mile, and there's you saying, ONLY 3 miles! He then looked me up and down and said you don't need to run, you're now skinny enough!!!!! OMG, I could have kissed him! Ok, I have lost nearly 2 stone in the last year, through the running (I hope) and cutting down on the junk food, but am by no means a model size 6, but a healthy size 12.

When he popped round again later, as had left something at ours, I was busy preparing dinner, and he asked if as I'd just completed a run if I was tired, I said, 'no, it was only a short run tonight, I'm fine'.... to which he replied 'you're like a trained athlete now!!!!! Ha ha! Had to laugh at that one, first time I've ever been called that!!!

So, to my follow trained athletes, enjoy your running journeys, I'm certainly enjoying mine!

You have transformed your body, your health and your life just by running and eating sensibly

Don't aim for the size 6, it probably won't be healthy for you.

Sounds to me as if the next step is to work on your brother.

Keep running, keep smiling.

Thanks Oldfloss, you are always there with a encouraging word! I plan to lost around another half stone, and will stop there, still in the healthy BMI weight limit. Thanks again x
