How do you make yourself seen?

It looks like I will be mainly running in the dark as the mornings draw in. I have a Hi vis sleavless jacket but what else do you recommend so I am seen by traffic?

Hi there. You can buy clothing that has reflective strips on them or buy the reflective strips and sow them on.

Bright clothing and footwear if possible.

Also you can buy the little lights. They look like the little lights on the front and back of bicycles. I've seen runners who have attached them to the front and back of their clothing.

Also saw these lights that clip to the back of your trainers on ebay. Different colours available too and not expensive at all.

Hope that's helped alittle.

If you really want to be seen proviz have running jackets and gilet tops that shine up in car lights. They aren’t cheap but are very effective and with Christmas coming up.....

A bit more than that even taking Black Friday discounts into consideration

Bother! I guessed as much 😂😂😂

I bought a second hand Ronhill running jacket from ebay. It’s windproof but very thin (so goes over my Primark exercise hoody) and has thin reflective strips back front and sleeves. I also have ultra thin karrimor running gloves which also have reflective strips on the backs. My jacket has the place to put a little red light so I will hunt out one of those too. I have two pairs of running shoes (am rotating because of my injuries) and on one the logo on the heel is reflective.

Aldi do flashing armbands for cyclists, two for 99p, use on arm and leg. Hi vis clothes as previously stated. Depends where you are running but a chest torch is good too.

Flashing! No..not that! A flashing belt, flashing sash...and there is something you can attach to your jacket too.. and LED thingie..I need to look it up!

Amazon stock loads

Other places will stock too.. someone on here used to say that they looked like Christmas tree when they ran :)

I have a belt that flashes.. I turn it to the back or front depending where I run :)

Reflective Velcro armbands do the job (I got a set of 4 for about £9 on Amazon), also got a bright Fluro green tee from there (£4 odd). To be honest I just go with the tee (layering up with a long sleeved thermal top underneath) or wear a bright fluro pink running jacket (again Amazon and less than £20). I also run facing oncoming traffic which I think is sensible.

Ebay is your friend here!! I bought a rechargable head torch for about fifteen quid (my usual run has no streetlights or pavements) and a cheap hi-viz running jacket for about a tenner. I've also bought a couple of running tops and some Ron Hill legging things and haven't paid more than a fiver for any single item.

I've also got some hi-viz magnetic band things which were as cheap as chips and you can wear them round your wrists or ankles.

The only item I actually spent "proper" money on was my trainers, and even they came from Sports Direct for £40. (Half decent Nikes) I only bought those because my old ones didn't offer much grip on wet tarmac interspersed with cow poo.
