Morning run ?

Because of work I couldn’t do my 2nd run of week 7 tonight . I have been running in the evenings but am thinking I should go tomorrow morning around 05:40 am ? Is that a good idea or would that make me feel too tired . Especially as I need to go out in the evening ? Advice greatly apreciated .

You might find it gives you more energy! I love early morning runs they give me a great start to the day and I feel energised and ready to take on the day.

It depends on what type of evening you have planned - if it's staying out until dawn I'd be tired anyway even without the early start (but then I'm getting on abit 😄)

Thank you so much for your advice. I didn’t go running that morning but went at 8 am this morning and it was lovely . During the week I will go after work though : I don’t seem to be able to get out of bed before 6 am !

Starting on week 8 on Tuesday :-)

Hi l only run in the morning about 6am every other day. It’s a great time to run your fresh from rest. You will feel very energised from running early and the serotonin and endorphins will last throughout the day. The peace and quiet of an early morning run is lovely and really calming sets you up for the day ahead. Also you can feel very smug you have done your run before everyone else is up. So many things can get in the way of an evening run that for me it probably wouldn’t happen. I go out on an empty stomach just some water before l go and have breakfast on my return. Hope that helps try it and enjoy the journey 🏃‍♀️👍

Best time of the day to run.

Really sets you up for the day and you feel great.

Hello Bsimon,

Running early in the morning works well for me. It's then that I have the most energy and, especially, the most resolve. I get up any time after five, have a drink of water and go out. Of course it's very dark here in the countryside so I have a hi-viz vest and my mobile phone lamp. There are very few cars and I reckon I'm pretty visible. I find my energy usually lasts long enough for work (I'm getting on! and mostly work half days) but I'm a bit knackered in the afternoons. By the way, I gather you burn more fat if you go out first thing without breakfast. Good luck to you, enjoy it!

Thank you so much. I only seem to be able to run in the morning in the weekend. Just finished week8 run 2 after work tonight and feeling great . Can’t believe I can run 28 mins and enjoy it !

I was just wondering : do you live in rural France ?

:-)

Yes, I do. In the south west, about an hour's drive from Bordeaux. It's a lovely spot.

I shouldn't but I envy you running 28 min and enjoying it. I did it once earlier this week and now I've had two bad runs (ten mins and 5 mins only! Don't seem to have what it takes right now.) I'm planning to go out tomorrow and have another go but I'm finding it difficult to get to the end of the programme. Not giving up yet, though!

Good luck with yours, you're very nearly there now!

I don’t seem to be a morning runner - I wish I was ! I don’t seem to be able to pull myself out of bed before 6 am. However went for a frosty run at 8 am this morning and loved it

This week : week 8 :-)) - getting there ! Quite excited and happy !
