Morning everyone it's been a week now and I still can't finish my last Two runs my back is still killing me went to docs Monday she said trapped nerve or slipped disc either way she said has to get better on its own . I'll be starting from the beginning at this rate I'm so gutted I can't run π.
Still gutted : Morning everyone it's been a week... - Couch to 5K
Still gutted
Oh no. That is so frustrating. Wishing you a speedy recovery so you can get back out there π
So frustrating but you have to recover ... quite a lot of people have to rest up mid programme for some reason but it has to be done and this is one of those times ... the programme is waiting for you, and whether you pick up or go back a bit you will still complete it and you will finish it and graduate ... running with injury is a dodgy business so be kind to yourself, it's not your fault, and take the time needed. Hope you feel better soon
I had niggling and sometimes acute back pain throughout my C25K and I *finally* found someone who could help. I would recommend seeking out at least one more opinion and asking about running and/or other exercise because in my experience, back injuries just don't get better on their own. In my particular case the disc injured was in the lower part of my spine and much of it was caused by my posture (head forward, overly straight middle spine, causing a sharp curve at the lower part of the spine) . I have had strengthening exercises, very particular stretches, and postural reminders. Running actually helped because my body moved into a better posture naturally, but I really needed extra help and advice too.
Thank you all for your support just have to sit it out a bit longer see what happens π
Oh, that's so frustrating.
I'm sure your GP's right but as I like to be in control of my own body I would go straight to a physio preferably one who specialises in sports injury. Hopefully they can give you treatment and or exercises to help.
Hope you're feeling better very soon and can get out there to finish those runs, I'm sure it won't be long.
Good luck!
