Got me right in the feels 😌

Hi guys. I just had to share this, this morning I did my week 8 run 1 (28mins) I started nice and steady and got through it till the end πŸ˜ƒ

Running is very close to my heart as my mum used to run the great south every year and run 4 times a week, she absolutely loved it! She always tried to get me to start but I never could really be bothered until now. Sadly my mummy died 6 years ago of a grade 4 brain tumour.she had 3 of them in her brain 😞

After my run today I got very very happy and emotional, it’s like she was there with me saying well done sweetheart I knew you could do it . I took a picture of myself strait away to capture this moment. One day I want to run the great south to make her proud 😌❀️

You've got me emotional too, Megzy! I'm sure your mum's always been proud of you but lovely you felt her with you today - what a great running buddy to have. Well done on your run: 28 minutes sounds amazing to me just starting week 3!

Thanks so much everyone for your kind words. I know when we all finish a run we get what they call a runners high which is what I definitely get but I also feel a real connection with my mum and that’s what’s pushing me through it, I’m taking a few days break as my groin keeps pulling after I run so thought I should rest it till Thursday xx

Absolutely sure she’s there running with you Megsy! Running is amazing for heightening the senses and I often feel my departed Dad is there pushing me on. Well done , keep it up and thanks for sharing. You will do the great South one day soon and she’ll be sooo proud of you!

That’s a very emotional post which, to a certain degree, I can relate to. I lost my sister in Aug after a 3 year battle against G4 Breast Cancer. After hearing about the London Charity Santa Run in Dec, I decided it would be nice to do the run in memory of my sister.

So glad I did. At aged 69, I wish I’d done this years ago not having run in years, and though I sorely miss my sister, I look on this as something good coming out of something bad! 😊

Keep running in your mums memory, she’d be proud of you x

Mums still guide and inspire and help us even after they have gone. She’s helping you to be healthy and happy and to look after yourself. I love your post.
