So this morning was the morning - Wk9 R3 and even the weather - crisp sunny with a nip in the autumn air - was perfect.
Off I set and the first 5 minutes were grim - told myself that by 10 minutes I'd be feeling fine at 15 really began to doubt if I'd finish (my first ever serious serios wobble). My legs felt fine but I was gasping for air. Wondered if the cold air was getting to my asthma but was DETERMINED that this WASN'T GOING TO BE THE TIME FOR A PRACTICE RUN! Told myself to get over that it was my graduation run just run like I knew I can.
At 20 minutes I knew I'd finish but the last 5 seemed like an eternity. Came to a stop by a woman and her dog that I've wheezed past on many a run and she said 'having a rest?' I explained that I'd just finished C25K and she said 'I wondered why you used to keep stopping ... so you'll be training for the marathon next will you?' π and gave me a toffee.
I enjoyed it on my brisk 5 minute walk home while I dreamed about all those runs for joy that Oldfloss recommends.
Feeling now like the cat that got the cream. Thank you all out there for all the support and inspiration - it was reading posts on here that made get out of bed and pull on a dusty old pair of trainers (they lasted until wk3) and get out there on a fateful Saturday morning about 10 weeks ago! You've quite simply helped me change my life!
