The usual Saturday trail. Not too bad on the run, but the old knee was giving me some curry on the walk back. It occurred to me that I would be in a bit of strife if I REALLY did my knee in, then I came around a bend and there were paramedics treating a youngster who had come off his bike (looked like he broke something). Turns out they can get an ambulance down the track No more worries about the bung knee! I'm going to be out of action for a few days next week, so I'm going for an early run on Monday morning and then probably won't run until Thursday or Friday. It won't kill me, but I'm not happy about it! At least I'll be resting the knee, I suppose.
(edited because old sausage fingers typed the wrong run!)

I also finished my last run of week 6! My shins have been hurting at the beginning and the end but never during the run. Keep up the good work your doing great xx
I actually did run 1 today, I don't know who typed 3! (sausage fingers!) Congrats on finishing, though. I started using a foam roller after I run because I was getting shin and calf pains. The roller hurts like hell while you're doing it, but it stops when you stop :)Thanks, you too!
Thanks OldFloss I've been working on the knee muscles since I found this site. I've been doing the weekend run at the beginning of a 10 km walk, although today I just did the run and walked back to the car as soon as I finished. I might start doing it on the way back after I'm limbered up. The trail I use is mostly bitumen and gravel so I'm wearing right proper running shoes for this. Once I graduate I'll probably hit the real bush trails. I'll research trail shoes in the meantime.
My phone goes with me on every run, whether I am using it for tracking and music or not. Some of the tracks I run are very quiet and you could lie there for several days before being found, so the phone is essential safety equipment.
I listen to tunes or an audio book, so I always have the phone with me. The tracks and trails I run on at the moment are pretty popular, but I can see myself getting more bold as I go along. I have seen a couple of signs pointing into the bush that I will definitely follow once I graduate Knees are up !
Week 6 Run 2 has really done me in! I did it at the time but once the adrenaline wore off I felt ill pretty much all weekend😩 I think I may dial back a week because my mind over matter attitude did not do me any good at all! I have no race to get ready for, I just want to lose weight and get fit.
