My first bit of bling...

On Sunday the 22/10/17 I successfully ran the Run Wales, Flintshire 5k road race, I honestly have not experienced anything quite like it and cannot wait for the next road race i enter. The support from the community on here and from friends and family has been brilliant all the way through the c25k, and when i said i was thinking of doing the chester half next year and running the flintshire this year i was met with praise and encouragement not ridicule.

I cannot say i wasn't nervous about running with a group of other people or as part of an organised event, but as soon as i was on the start line the nerves turned to excitement about what i was about to achieve.

having had a heart condition when i was a child i was never allowed to take part in a lot of sports and possibly due to this have never really been "fit" i am still over weight and 14 stone wombling along isn't a pretty sight, but do you know what i didn't care one little bit, I was out in the fresh air, with other people doing something i enjoy and being spurred on by the cheers and encouragement all along the route.

to those starting c25k well done for doing it, stick with it through the ups and downs, to those having the mid c25k wobbles we have all been there and know what it's like, to those who've graduated a huge congratulations, above all thank you for the support and advice and friendship on the c25k forum, and here's to the next 5k, who know maybe 10... ;)

Well done on your run - big organised races can be great (if you don't mind the crowds) and I think the nerves/adrenaline help us on our run! Good luck with those goals too - this is just the beginning of the journey!🙂

it was a heart murmur, looking at it i couldn't tell if it was "innocent" or "abnormal", have not let it stop me doing anything now although the last major checkup i had at the drs i enquired about it and they stated that it couldn't be heard any longer whether it has improved due to what little exercise i had done or whether it was a "childhood" murmur i don't know

Fantastic achievement, well done. That is very inspiring! I hope I'll be doing the same one day!
