The last run of week eight, went fine apart from various watch and app failures :(

At the end of the twenty eight minutes I kept running as I felt fine, would you believe that upon checking distances after the run, it would appear that I stopped running about twenty metres shy of the 5k mark....Pfft.

Week nine beckons, gotta hit the 5k then or I'll be severely hacked off!

Targets are great but the aim of this badly named training plan is to get you running three thirty minute non stop runs in a week.............not 5k.

I seldom read life's instructions and that, at times, presents me with difficulties ;)

I thought this was meant to be 5K in 30 minutes and did exactly that but paid for it in injuries as a result. Nowadays l can routinely run that time and distance and during my interval runs l am able to hit 25-26 minutes.

However! I recently discovered that in my case at least, that makes no sense or difference. I'm 53, for god's sake, I will never set the world alight by running 2.5 min per km, aren't keen on park runs or any competitions so may as well slow down, preserve my body and actually enjoy the darn thing. Sprint here and there for cardio sake is fine but pushing it in order to do (what exactly) has become questionable :)

Just a thought based on my musings ;)
