Hi All I know I sound dim but what's the best way or gadget to get that will measure my distance?

How do I measure my distance?
A lot of us use GPS watches such as Garmin which are about the most accurate or download an app on a smartphone one of which is called runkeeper..
Hi Zamzam, there are no dim questions on this forum (some crazy answers sometimes...) so feel free to ask us anything!
Ok, I’ll tell you how to measure your distance, but in return you have to promise that you won’t get hung up about distance/speed/pace. During C25K the only important number is time: walk/run for the time on the podcast/app. Nothing else matters.
Ok, here are the 4 ways to measure distance:
1) Plot your route on an online map & it will tell you - surprisingly accurately - your distance.
2) With an iPhone or Android phone, install a running app like MapMyRun, Strava etc and these will record your run, show loads of data including a map of where you ran. Very common on this forum.
3) Buy a pedometer or fitness tracker eg FitBit. These can record the number of steps you take in a day, know when you are running and give a good estimate of distance travelled based on stride length, time that your foot is in the air and your gait.
4) Buy a running watch - eg Garmin ForeRunner series. These all have built in GPS and accurately record your run. They will upload tremendous amount of running data to the host website and give you more running metrics than you know what to do with.
Hope that helps!
