It is normal if you are using muscle groups that you are not used to using and it is also normal if you are not wearing shoes that are appropriate for your running style.

If you haven't done it, I would recommend a gait analysis at a specialist running shop and take their advice about appropriate shoes for your gait.

You could try slowing down too. Slow running builds stamina and avoids lactic acid build up from doing it all too fast.

All IannodaTruffe says and more.. slow down..just pull back, relax and enjoy.

Warm up well, exercise, non impact, on rest days and stretch well afterwards:)
