Iโ€™ve been tucking my phone in the waist band of my leggings ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜‚ but Iโ€™ve just ordered an armband from online retailer for ยฃ5.99. It says it can hold a house key as well as phone.

I started buying 'runners' shorts and leggings which have a zip pocket just under the middle of the back on the waistband. Keeps everything secure and a mobile phone armband for my music. I found that standard leggings and shorts didn't seem to have the pockets.

Hi I have a jacket with pockets where I keep my phone but I also have a ron hill running. top that has a pocket at the back for phone and I run my earphones up the back and through the loop and 2 side pockets where keys etc can go I also have a pair of Adidas leggings that have a phone pocket on the side but I find that this tends to pull them down slightly so I tend to use the top and running leggings with zip pocket at the side more . ๐Ÿ™‚

Sports Direct sell a handy little audio belt for just over a fiver. It will hold a smallish phone, has two pockets and I don't even notice it when running. I have had it four four years and imagine I will get many more years out of it.

My wife will not use this and I would not use her arm band.........a matter of personal preference.

My birthday next month will scan sports direct and give a few hints out to the family - thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

Do check that it will hold your phone. Some are so big these days.

I use similar too, does the job perfectly

I have a flipbelt. They are great. No flipping about and less bulky than an arm band.

I wear a little arm band. Just fits my oyster card and keys. From sports direct. But I prefer nothing so try to buy running gear with pockets now, although often they don't fit the oyster card which gives me more flexibility on routes - run out and get bus or tube back.

I donโ€™t like holding items in my hands , I find they make my hands ache ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

Rignold profile image

If holding a phone and a key for 30 minutes makes your hands ache you migth want to do some grip strength work and up your Omega 3 supplement

Vonhorn profile image

Thanks , iv been thinking of doing some strength excercises as Iโ€™m getting older and iv noticed I canโ€™t open jars like I used to ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

I take loads of photos when I am running (as youโ€™ll see on my posts) and also like to be able to change songs. I tried an armband but it felt weird having the weight on one arm and not the other.

I drive to where I run so my car keys and all the other keys donโ€™t fit in a pocket.

Hands should be relaxed, not gripping, for the optimal performance of upper body. Just think forward to your first marathon............

Vonhorn profile image
Vonhorn in reply to OurB

I hope you donโ€™t mind me saying , it is advisable not to have a phone in your bra for health reasons , but good idea about key on laces would never of thought of that ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ‘

No, thank you. I know itโ€™s not ideal and you saying that will push me to buy something safer. Thanks to you starting this post Iโ€™ve got plenty of ideas now!

I had a new phone that got water damaged. Can only think it got damp from running with it in my bra. So annoying because water damage isn't covered by warranty and I hadn't insured it. Some phones can take it, my old one is still fine but others are more delicate.

Nobbywatts profile image
NobbywattsGraduate in reply to Maztink

Please please ladies, DON'T put your phones in your bras - or next to any other bit of your bare skin for extended times for that matter. You too, chaps.

Newrunnerliz profile image

Mine goes in my bra in a neoprene pouch, is that ok?

Nobbywatts profile image
NobbywattsGraduate in reply to Newrunnerliz

It's better than it being just in there without anything round it, I suppose. But phones emit some sort of radiation all the time I believe, and more when you receive a call or text - do you really want that leaching into your delicate boobs? In my job I talk to ladies about all kinds of "delicate" subjects and I met a larger-boobed lady recently who always kept her phone in her bra. I explained why it probably was better not to and she told me she already had "really lumpy boobs" - on that side only. Just saying is all. ๐Ÿค”

Thanks. Food for thought I guess but then it applies to wherever you have it on your body! Such a worry.

As a health professional I remember when they had to be switched off in clinical areas because it was thought they interferes with all sorts of monitoring equipment, ECG,s CTGโ€™s etc etc, but now they are used freely without a problem.

I wish we really knew๐Ÿ™

I have one pair of brilliant Lululemon shorts that have standard pockets. Theyโ€™re my favourites. I found some leggings at TK Maxx that have zip pockets on the top of the legs - I can fit my phone in one, and everything else in the other. Theyโ€™re RBX.

I'm a hand-holder as well - phone's massive so don't want to faff around looking for something to fit it in... As for the bra ... I personally don't want to stretch mine out any more by holding stuff in it!!

Left hand - phone and right hand - water bottle. I don't bother with keys as I tend to go out when there is at least one person in the house. I tried an armband and couldn't get on with it, found it cumbersome

I have the running belt. Good because you can use your phone with headphones whilst in the bag and also little pocket for front door keys. It's fab. Got it from Amazon

Melons1965 profile image

I also have a running belt. I tried a phone holder on my arm and didn't like it, I get too hot for a jacket and the pockets are too small in the running gear.

The belt is brilliant, I have my phone, my iPod and my house keys in the belt!

Iโ€™m in the same situation, I put my phone down the waistband of my trousers, first problem I lost weight so the phone went down my leg๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ now Iโ€™ve got a tighter pair when I run the phone ๐Ÿ˜‚keeps popping out of the top!!๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜‚

Phone tucked into my leggings and key around my wrist. I've got a small hair tie attached to the key ring, so I just slip it over my hand and off I go!

Would be nice to have a simple solution for my waterbottle though. As it is I just drink when I get home.

I use a running belt I bought from eBay. Cost me less than ยฃ3 and holds my phone on one side and key on the other. The pockets expand and can hold a can of juice (to give you an idea of the size)

I use a money belt round my waist (phone, key, tissues, jelly babies(!), lip salve) & carry a tiny travel bottle of water in my hand *just in case*. Travelling light never was my thing. I'd take my handbag if I could :-D

I invested in a Nike running belt, it was expensive but best thing I did. I didnโ€™t get on with pockets etc and I can actually put my phone in here too which works better for me as I have wireless headphones and the arm strap for my phone was annoying me a little. My hands and arms are free (apart from water bottle) and it really helps. They are slim but fit an iPhone cleverly. X

I have a iPhone 6s plus the massive one, I couldn't stand it on my arm so I bought a belt, Its fab it doesn't get in the way my phone fits (just) and my keys and I forget its there most of the time.

I tried an arm band but it was too tight or if I loosened it fell down some so I now have a belt which takes my phone and keys if I need them. I also registered with park run and have an ICE card too ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ
