Purely out of interest, it has no bearing on how I run now (or will in the future) but could anyone tell me their usual pace when they graduated?... Either min/km or Km/hour. Thankyou.

Very variable at my fastest just under 6 mins a km , when I’ve done 10kms or more down to 8 8.5 mins a km... Oh and hills make a difference too
Thanks for the answer Jancanrun, I find it interesting that's all. I wasn't asking because I was comparing myself particularly (as IannodaTruffe quite rightly indicates: we are all starting from a different place and so will be different)... That was my point really, I don't know anyone (that's not online) who runs, and so didn't have anyone else to ask, so I guess I was just interested.
Thanks again, Liz x
Ahh, so you cannot resist comparison?
It is human nature, but if we all reply, what are you hoping to gain? Some people will be faster than you and some will be slower, some people are older than you and some are younger, some are fitter and some less fit, while others have underlying health conditions and some are regular sportspeople and then of course gender comes into it.
If I tell you my average pace at graduation, when I was 57, will you be pleased or disappointed with your comparison?
The only important comparison is to your former self.
I kind of agree my goal is to run a 5k in a time near (not exactly) to when I ran many years ago - it really is a very personal goal. 🏃♀️🏃♀️🙏
Happy pace... and that is all, for me that mattered
I just want to enjoy my running, so it will never be fast. I am pleased if it is faster than my brisk walk - even a tiny bit faster! 😃
I was faster than I am these days, four years in. Running often isn't linear progress.😀
Well my pace is slow, but happy 😀
Awe well done you 👍🏻be proud of yourself 😊
I'm going to only be evil and say mathematically you'd want to have an average pace of 6 mins/km to do a full 5K in the 30mins, so if someone wants to do that, that's what they have to aim for... I'm guessing you're just interested in yardsticks, to get a feel for how you're doing, but yeah there's so many variables, it probably doesn't ultimately help us.
Also to be fair my "usual" pace wouldn't help because I've always reined myself in for the first 10 minutes. Goal for me has always been to finish and I know I'm massively overcompensating and should probably learn to push myself more! So over a 5k my pace for each km is not linear... OK hang on, it IS linear actually, it's just not a flat line, it's an insane slope pointing upwards! ROFL. I'm flying* by the time I get to the last km.
*Ok not "flying" by like runner-runner's standards, but I compare me to me and it feels like flying so that's what it is!
I want to try doing a Parkrun this Saturday but I was worried I might get carried away with all the other runners and go too far or too fast for me. I tried running for 35 mins today and i’m Ok with that so if I do Parkrun I will aim to run for 35 mins and brisk walk the last km.
For me I needed a reasonable plan as like you Lillybeth I don’t know or run with any other runners.
I’m going for my first park run on Saturday too, I think there will be all sorts of abilities including people who just walk so I’m figuring that if I can run/walk as much as I need to I’ll get to the end eventually in one piece! I just like the idea of community and meeting up with other runners as so far it’s just me and my mate Mrs.Whiley!😂🏃♀️
I was running a better pace when I graduated C25K than when I started and now can run a better pace than when I graduated. Good enough for me 😊
