Well! I've done it. I have just completed my 10k run which is 6.214 miles apparently.
So I decided that I would put my Garmin into miles. I think for me it's mind over matter.Reaching the 6mile marker seems for me easier to think about. So when I get to 3miles I just tell myself I've only got another 3 then I've done it yippee! And that's exactly what I did. π€π€
The time however was slow but I'm not too bothered as I can hopefully improve on that. To be honest my goal today was to get my 10k/6miles (which ever way you want to say it) under my belt and I did.ππ
I did it on my treadmill as I knew that I would not be able to achieve it outside where I live .This is because as you all will remember me writing on numerous occasions about how hilly it is !and many inclines! So I achieved my aim today and this is the way I did it.
Now I just have to improve on my time.My speed was between 6 and 6.5 deliberately as I knew that any higher a speed I would not have achieved my aim.I also walked for 5 mins so did not stop at all. My overall run was 1hour 36 mins. My pace was slow as well
So my question now is Do I become a graduate10? Pleeeease! ππ
Thank you so much Jacs-W ! I was determined to do it today and before I knew it I had I fact done it !! , I never realised that I'm long distance runner yippee!!!ππ
Thanks again pollyp! Still enjoying the feeling and amazed that I actually did it.But you are right it was hard !. My intention is to do 10k in May in the Hereford running festival. I'll be the big 60 by then, shall hopefully still enjoy my running ,enjoy of course being the most important word and achieving a better time.
Fantastic ! Yes you must! must ! There is the marathon ,half marathon,10k,and 5k. I did the 5k this year and thoroughly enjoyed it. Go girl go ! ππ
I live with my wonderful husband and our two beautiful Labradors ( uncle and niece) on the border of Monmouth. Village called Llangrove. Do you know it at all?
Wow, well done, thatβs a proper achievement...can I just say how comfy your garmin looks??!! π
Thank you and of course you may! ha! Yes it's very sminky. Its called a forerunner25. It's 8 months old now
I still can't believe I've done it . I won't pinch myself in case I wake up and it's all been a dream hee! hee! The give away though is me achey legs !
