All i can say it was late and i was tired on friday night and although someone had already planted the seed in my brain, i ended up on the run wales website and signing up to the flintshire 5k... why... lol

To be completely honest i am excited about doing it looking forward to the atmosphere and seeing what all the fuss about racing/running or in my case wombling along with other runners is all about.

Each year as i live close to the start i hear the event over the PA system this yeaqr i will be taking part :D, i also don't know wether it was wise but i run the course route itself on saturday to give me a feel for what i have entered into and apart from the first hill it is an ok route, in fact most of it apart from the hill i already run as parts of my usual weekly runs.

what i think i am trying to say in amongst all the rambling is to all the graduates who are thinking of entering your first race or even doing a park run, just do it you will enjoy it and you might surprise yourself with the result.

ps... the event is in 2 weeks time and i will post how i get on afterwards, wish me luck :D

Ooooo good tactics to run the course before the race. Now you can visualise each section and plan your pacing. I look forward to being able to do a 30 in run nonstop. Good Luck and let us all know how it goes :D

seasoned not entirely sure but it was a great experience, legs are still feeling it now although i did try for a "normal" run on tuesday and failed miserably after a mile, legs hurt too bad, DOMS strikes again :/
